New! Customized Birthstone Bracelets

Hope you are all enjoying Spring! Here in Sweden the drab weather has finally gone, it’s still on the chilly side but I have spotted some sprouts of flowers in the forests. I absolutely love the summer so I am really looking forward to spending time outside and working on some new jewelry pieces. Today in this post I wanted to introduce the new birthstone bracelets. These bracelets are actually quite simple and made from black leather cord, sterling silver, and crystal.

Each bracelet has a hammered sterling silver slider and you can choose your birthstone and customize it. You can also choose your bracelet size. I love that they are so dainty and subtle at the same time. At the moment they are only available on black leather cord, but it’s possible other leather colors may be available in the future. I have already had some requests come in to feature two birthstones for couples – an idea I hadn’t even thought of! But of course, and as always I am happy to customize this piece with 2 birthstones either on the same slider or on it’s own slider.

Silver and Gold Mix – Yes or No?

I have noticed alot of jewelry with mixed silver and gold the past few seasons. For years, women have tussled with this dilemma whether or not its appropriate to mix the two metals together. Past rules of jewelry etiquette once dictated that silver jewelry be worn with silver, gold be worn with gold, and never the two shall be mixed. But these rules have been changing. While wearing just one metallic element does give you a more traditional look, mixing them isn’t always a no-no. In fact, I have seen many upscale jewelry designers like David Yurman have been showcasing items that mix the two elements within the same piece. A good idea is to try wearing a piece such as a watch in silver and some gold bangle bracelets to complete your look. Or even layering gold and silver chain necklaces of different lengths.

If you are still unsure about how it will look, you could wear the type of metal the most that you usually wear and then accent with the other metal which would be a small “bridging” piece. As an example, If you normally wear silver, but want to highlight your outfit – then include a gold-silver item in your outfit as a bridging piece will make your accessories seem beautifully unified without going overboard and keeping you comfortable with your look. I love this look and have combined the metals in two of my earrings – Butterfly Wing Marquis and Mini Heart Marquis. I have also included in in my Charm Link Bracelet with 5 Gold Accent rings. Just enough gold to create a beautiful piece that is eye catching and harmonious. I think the combination is just stunning!
